INTORDUCTION
Hello friends i am Dy SP Shahid Eqwal BPSC 60-62 and BPSC 63 batch qualified candidate and i secured Rank 39 in BPSC 63 batch. I strongly feel that education must be free and fair for everybody and reach beyond social barriers. The most basic idea about creating this website is to disseminate my assumptions for free education. In this article i am going to discuss preparation strategy for BPSC Exam during COVID-19 pandemic. It is pertinent to mention that everyone around the world is more or less affected in some or other way due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and students are not an exception. All coaching classes are closed and book stalls are shut.

Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, India is under lock down, which has been extended till May 31, 2020 and may be extended further depending upon prevailing circumstances. Pertaining to this, 65th BPSC Mains exam which was scheduled to be conducted in the month of May 20 have been postponed until further notice. While the expectations are that it may be conducted by the end of July 20. The process of notification for 66th BPSC Exam has also been put on hold and fresh dates have not been declared so far.
Serious aspirants have an extended preparation time available for both exams i.e for 65th BPSC Mains and for 66th BPSC Pre, which shall be put to effective utilization.This lock down time is in fact a boon for all of you and must be properly utilized to revise syllabus and to focus on weak topics. Remember one thing, BPSC will conduct exam shortly after the lock down period is over.
Students must stay positive and need to focus on revision and analyzing their setbacks. As per the previous schedule, most of the aspirants must have gone through the complete syllabus and must be making the last-minute revision now. While the whole nation is under lock down, and social distancing seems to be the only effective control method right now, there is an urgent need to deal positively with this crisis. The need of the hour is to utilize the extra time productively and plan the preparations in a coherent manner.

TIME MANAGEMENT
Time play a vital role in deciding the rank for an aspirant in BPSC Merit list. The remaining time before exam should be wisely used for revision, maintaining speed and increasing accuracy to solve question, identifying the weaker topics and working upon them. Finally, it is the relative performance that will matter on the exam day. This time should generally be made use of in consolidating one's preparation. At this point of time it is necessary to keep calm and patient and follow a systematic schedule to ensure effective preparation and best use one's productivity.
Having locked down inside a house, it’s obvious that he/she is devoid of all the external distractions making it more conducive for an aspirant to productively use the time to study. The below picture shows how one can maintain his/her time in a day.

Despite studying for 10 to 11 hours along with a sound sleep of 7 hours, one will be still left with 6 hours which can be devout for Family and/or Entertainment. Such a breakdown is important because aspirants should allot some time to socialize. This in fact has not been possible for the last few days, if not weeks. Engaging in conversations will put your mind at ease.
TAKE HELP OF ONLINE PORTALS
Online platforms like YouTube, Education Portals, Educational websites, Wikipedia etc are available that provides a virtual classroom ambiance with complete notes, expert opinions, online classes, mock tests etc for best student preparation. Be specific to use these online platforms and make use of it judiciously. Don't waste precious time watching unwanted YouTube videos. Use of Wikipedia is best for study reference and to prepare notes.Online portals allow you to learn by staying in the safety and security of your home and ensure better learning outcomes, save time and increase accessibility at the same time.
REVISION
Revision is key to success. Revision is the most important aspect of the preparation process and the best way to tackle the exam pressure is to have a well-structured and organized revision plan. If you are preparing for BPSC Pre exam then revise your topics from the book itself. Always read the books underlining important facts so that revision could be a easy process for you. You have to appear in 65th BPSC Mains then follow your notes exhaustively for revision.This way, you will be able to get strong hold on topics and subjects which stay in your memory for longer period.
MOCK TEST
Mock tests play an important role in making familiar with strong and weak areas. To analyse your preparation, aspirants are advised to take mock tests. It is difficult to take in-class room mock test for 65th mains exams due to lock down. I would like to suggest you to download previous year question papers and write down the same in time bound manner. Write at least one mock test every week for mains. The most important aspect of writing mains mock test is to enhance your writing speed as well as writing skills. I request you not to wait for coaching to open to attend in-class mock test for mains. Just do it yourself as advised by me.

TAKE REGULAR BREAK AND RELAX
Do not sit continuously for long hours to study all at once, but instead take small and frequent breaks at least after one hour of focused revision. These intervals are essential for the brain to retrieve information and revive the energy, making you ready for the next sessions. There may be many distractions and thoughts running in the mind. Focus and overcome the complications with interest and determinations.
DOs AND DON'T
- First of all, synchronizing the daily routine to the exam date plays a vital role. This provides an insight into the duration left and the efforts required. This also helps in making a time table for the leftover days.
- Wakes up early, by 6 AM to 7 AM and utilizes that golden few hours to the most prioritized subjects.
- Avoid negative distractions such as Instagram, Facebook, and other social media throughout the preparation.
- Must set reasonable targets for the day and try to accomplish it by the end.
- Must set weekly targets alongside revisions.
- Will not miss a single day of making current affairs from newspapers to keep themselves updated.
- Appear in mock tests and effectively analyze it at the end and never feel over-enthused or let down by the marks obtained.
- Controls anxiety through meditation and yoga.
- Stays positive throughout the day and throughout the preparation.
- Eats healthy and never risks falling sick.
- Be consistent and accountable for yourselves.
- Keep in touch with his mentors, family and trusted friends who would keep them motivated throughout

Endeavor of knowledge accumulation should not come to a halt just because of lock down. Mission mode preparation must be imperative. Apparently, being quarantined and staying indoors is not a new thing for a civil services aspirant, as he would anyways stay “quarantined” as he enters the last lap of preparation journey. In fact, one should embrace the fact that there’s altogether very less distraction than there was earlier. You are what you believe in. You become that which you believe you can become.
